B / W
Group exhibition at Alma Traklin Gallery TLV.
30 September - 10 November 2022
Curated by Tsibi Geva.
This exhibition showcases the work of five artists whose creations offer a paradoxical vision of corporeality, standing in contrast to the "black-and-white world." Their works are characterized by rich, tactile materiality—fleshy, textured, and collage-like—with surfaces that are layered and complex.
Each piece carries a distinct biography and reflects prolonged processes of transformation, resulting in a conscious reduction of color.
The gallery space becomes a canvas for an intuitive, non-verbal syntax that invites reflection and introspection. Rather than adhering to a literal narrative, the works encourage a deep engagement with the language of the body and the material, exploring themes of construction, deconstruction, erasure, and repair. Through this immersive approach, the exhibition offers a multifaceted experience that challenges traditional boundaries and fosters new ways of seeing and understanding.
